There is a trend for people to take their cars across too on the ferry so that when you are there you have complete freedom to drive around exploring the surrounding areas whether that is in the beautiful South of France or maybe in gorgeous Italy or Spain. And it's not just France, Spain and Italy where you can take these types of holidays. There are now plenty of holiday parks to choose from in Austria, Switzerland, Holland and even more unusual holiday destinations like Croatia and Sardinia. It's a very cost effective way of getting out there and seeing other parts of the world.

This type of holiday will appeal to families with children of all ages. The holiday parks tend to be centered round a huge swimming pool complex, many with water slides and water chutes.
