Welcome to Annecy, the “Venice of the Alps” with its cobblestone streets, beautiful canals and historic sites like the Palais de l’Isle and Château d’Annecy.
Just beyond, you’ll find ‘Lac d’Annecy’ (Lake Annecy to you and me…) one of Europe’s cleanest lakes! Experience its crystal-clear turquoise waters – perfect for paddleboarding, wakeboarding, sailing and swimming.
There’s no deep breathing required as the lake’s summer temperature reaches a pleasant 24°C (75°F).
Hikers and bikers will love it here thanks to the 42-km cycling path and scenic hiking trails, all with stunning views.
Visit charming villages like Veyrier-du-Lac and Talloires, and savour local cheese dishes and fresh fish at top-notch restaurants, including Michelin-starred spots.
Although you might not want to jump in the lake in winter, there’s still plenty happening. The Venetian Carnival brings the town to life with colourful masks and costumes. Annecy and its lake provide a perfect mix of adventure, chillout time and plenty to see and do.
Going Eurocamp at Annecy
Staying at Eurocamp offers what you might call a carefree holiday. You’ll enjoy top-notch facilities like pools, spas, and free kids’ clubs. Eurocamp provides comfortable, spacious holiday homes with decking and outside space, ensuring a relaxing stay.

Getting around Annecy and to your holiday park
Geneva Airport (GVA) is the closest major airport, about 30 miles from Annecy. From there, it’s a quick trip to your Eurocamp destination.
If you’re not hiring a car, getting to nearby Eurocamp parks from the airport is cheap and easy. Taxis and pre-arranged transfers are your best bet. The airport also has a shuttle bus service connecting it to Annecy’s bus and train stations.
Annecy is well-connected by major highways like the A41, making it easily accessible by car from other parts of France and neighbouring countries.
Which Eurocamps are closest to Lake Annecy?
There’s good news and bad news here. The bad news is I could only find two Eurocamp sites that are in the vicinity of Lake Annecy. (And a cheat one, which I’ll get to in a second!)
The good news is that the ones that are on Eurocamp are right on the lake so there’s no driving (unless you’re wanting to explore the rest of the lake – which you should!) The second bit of good news is the campsites are really good ones with some cracking user reviews on Trip Advisor.
My ‘cheat’ is I’ve picked a Canvas holiday park that’s on Annecy too. They’re another good brand and the website is identical to Eurocamp’s and the park I picked in spot 3 is also a 4.5 / 5 on Trip Advisor.
