Unwind in green, tranquil surroundings
Have fun using the fantastic sports facilities
Keep the kids entertained with sports, arts and crafts and more
There’s something special about being on an island. L’ile du Rhin’s unique setting between the River Rhine and the Grand Canal d’Alsace means it’s surrounded not just by water, but a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere too. When you’re on an island, it’s just so easy to go with the flow.
If you like peace, quiet and maybe a gentle game of pétanque while you sip the local Riesling, this is certainly the place for you. It’s easy to pick up the pace when you want to though. As well as volleyball, football and basketball in the parc itself, there’s a fantastic swimming pool with water slides right next door.
The on parc playground is a great place for kids to wear off excess energy. Alternatively, they can have plenty of fun at the parc’s children’s club – it puts on a brilliant programme of activities for young ones, so you can sit and watch the water flow by in peace.

Local area
Situated up in the northeast of France, Alsace is a wonderfully diverse place to explore. You can stroll through vineyards, hike in the Vosges mountains, sail down the Rhine, cycle through gorgeous forests or bathe (literally and metaphorically) in the beauty of its lakes. The Alsatian villages are a joy too – full of culture, history and tradition.
If you can fit in a visit to Colmar, do it. Wandering around the city’s well-preserved old town, with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses, is a lovely way to pass the time. And while you’re there, squeeze in a visit to one of the castles, or maybe the museum of toys.
